How We Serve
Madison County CASA is assigned cases that come through the Juvenile Court by Judge Little. Each case is different and CASAs are assigned reasons like: drug exposure or abuse (physical, sexual, or emotional).
After being assigned a case the CASA staff will then select an available CASA volunteer to assign to the case. This CASA will then familiarize themselves with the case and begins to speak with the different parties and monitor the situation. CASAs generally check in on their children weekly and make sure that their living conditions are safe. In some cases the CASAs might also find relatives for the children to stay with that DCS was unable to locate.
A CASA can stay on a case for a long period of time depending on the length of the case.
A case is closed when a child is in what the CASA considers to be their permanent placement.
