Joseph Howell, a West Tennessee native and graduate of the University School of Jackson, obtained his B.A. from the University of Mississippi and his J.D. from the Nashville School of Law. Following his admission to the Bar, Mr. Howell practiced with the firm of Hollins, Wagster & Yarbrough, P.C. in Nashville and was a member of the Nashville Bar Association and the Harry Phillips Inn of Court. Following the birth of their first child, Mr. Howell and his wife, Lori, returned to Jackson, where he accepted a position as an Assistant District Public Defender for the 26th Judicial District of Tennessee. In 2008, Mr. Howell opened his own firm. Mr. Howell, a graduate of Leadership Jackson, is a member of both the Tennessee state courts as well as the United States District Courts for both Western and Middle Districts of Tennessee and the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Howell, his wife and two (2) children are members of the First Presbyterian Church in Jackson.
